The Caring Place Food Programs
At the heart of our mission, basic human needs start with healthy foods. Our Food Programs help take one of the biggest daily stresses — putting food on the table — off a family's plate, so their income can go toward building real stability instead of just covering rising grocery costs.
If you live in our service area and need food assistance, please visit during our office hours. Families needing food only simply fill out an intake. All information is self-reported and no proof of need is required.
First time visiting? Start out by completing the intake at our Programs and Services building across the street from the main store and the pantry. Once enrolled, neighbors receive a Caring Card to use when visiting. Renewal is a quick application.
Food assistance is made possible through our partnership with Central Texas Food Bank, grant funders, and our generous community.

Food Pantry
The Food Pantry is a once monthly full shopping experience. Neighbors shop for food that their families enjoy and that fit their nutritional, health, and cultural needs. Restocked daily, families can expect a variety selections from canned veggies to fresh produce, eggs, and frozen meats.

Fresh Food for Families Market
On the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Mondays from 8* - 9 AM, The Caring Place holds an open market of fresh produce items at 2000 Railroad Ave. This is a walk-up event where families can fill shopping bags with vegetables and fruits.
Caring Card is required for these events.
Park and walk to follow signs or directions for the market.
*Food distribution will begin as soon as we unload the produce received from
Central Texas Food Bank and is estimated to begin by 8:00 AM, but may begin earlier or later, depending on when the delivery truck arrives. -
HOPE
The Healthy Options Program for the Elderly (HOPE) is an additional, prepackaged selection of healthy, shelf-stable items for individuals age 60 and older.
Caring Card required to receive a monthly box.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form which can be obtained online at: https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/ad-3027.pdf, from any USDA office, by calling, (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
