Be a Loads of Caring Host Team!
Loads of Caring Needs Host Teams! This is a bi-monthly free laundry event offered by The Caring Place in partnership with a host organization and Washatopia. Businesses, congregations or community groups are great participants.
What does a Host Team do?
Host Teams are the heart of our Loads of Caring events. By providing volunteers and financial support, you’ll make a profound difference in the lives of our neighbors. It’s a hands-on experience filled with joy, compassion, and connection.
- Host Teams typically consist of 12-16 caring volunteers to organize and work at each event.
- We find it works best to have 6-8 volunteers from 4 to 6 PM and another 6-8 volunteers from 6 to 8 PM.
- Volunteers should also arrive 10 minutes before their shift for training.
- Having a team member who speaks Spanish helps us connect with more members of the community. This is helpful, but not required.
- *Host Teams cover two-thirds of the washing machine costs, with Washatopia generously contributing the remaining third.
Many teams also provide event supplies, and The Caring Place will cover any additional purchases of soap and dryer sheets.
Loads of Caring is more than just clean clothes. It’s about building relationships, offering comfort, and creating a welcoming space for everyone. By acting as a Host Team, you'll discover the incredible rewards of giving back and making a tangible impact on the lives of those in need. Become a Host Team by signing up HERE. You'll find the dates we need a host on the Sign-Up Genius page.
